Meet Your Doula

Kishna Outlaw

Precious Postpartum Support provides compassionate, personalized postpartum doula care for families navigating the fourth trimester. Founded by Kishna, a certified postpartum doula and 200-hour registered yoga teacher, this practice centers recovery, rest, and emotional well-being after birth.

Kishna brings years of experience in providing emotional and practical support to individuals and families, now focused on professional postpartum doula care. Her approach is gentle, trauma-informed, and rooted in embodiment—honoring the body’s pace of healing and the uniqueness of each family’s postpartum journey. With her specialized training in yoga, she brings an added layer of mindful presence and somatic awareness to every session.

Postpartum support services include newborn care education, emotional support, recovery guidance, light meal preparation, and practical assistance designed to reduce overwhelm and promote confidence during the early weeks after birth. Kishna’s yoga background gently informs her support, which may include calming breathing exercises and subtle, yoga-inspired movement for relaxation, grounding, and gentle body awareness—always offered as a nurturing tool for reconnection, never as medical or fitness instruction.

Precious Postpartum Support believes postpartum is not a phase to rush through, but a season to be supported with dignity, presence, and care. Families are met where they are and supported in creating a calm, grounded beginning at home.

Postpartum Preparation and Support

Journeying into parenthood can bring questions, uncertainty, and big emotions. My role as a postpartum doula is to help you prepare for the postpartum period with confidence, offer steady support after birth, and walk alongside you as you navigate recovery, rest, and those sleepless early days.

MY STORY

Why I love being a doula in Vail

Precious Postpartum Support didn’t begin with a marketing plan or a list of clients—it began with lived experience, observation, and a deep awareness of what is missing for people after birth.

For years, I watched birthing parents move through postpartum without adequate support. I saw exhaustion normalized, emotional overwhelm minimized, and recovery rushed. I noticed how often the focus stayed on the baby while the birthing parent quietly disappeared into responsibility, pain, and isolation. These weren’t abstract issues—they were real, embodied experiences I witnessed in families, communities, and within myself.

I didn’t start this business because I saw a gap in the market. I started it because I kept seeing the same pain points show up again and again: parents needing rest but feeling guilty for taking it, wanting support but not knowing how to ask, and feeling unprepared for the emotional and physical reality of the fourth trimester. What struck me most was how many people believed they were “failing,” when in reality, they were simply unsupported.

Becoming a certified postpartum doula allowed me to name and formalize the kind of care I had always believed in—care that centers the birthing parent, honors the body’s pace, and treats postpartum as a critical life transition rather than something to get through quickly. Even before working with clients formally, I have spent years listening to these stories, learning from them, and shaping my approach around what people actually need: calm guidance, practical help, emotional safety, and permission to slow down.

While my ideal client may not be another business, I deeply understand what they are seeking—relief, reassurance, and a sense of steadiness during a vulnerable time. Precious Postpartum Support exists to meet that desire for a gentler, more supported postpartum experience. The transformation I offer is not a promise of perfection, but an invitation into dignity, rest, and feeling held during one of life’s most tender seasons.

A Precious supported Postpartum Trimester is waiting for you, too!

This tender chapter can be one of deep connection and calm strength. With the right support, you can navigate it feeling informed, held, and deeply capable.
